I found this ding on the jaguar today. But the car has so many dings in it I lose track of them. I want to say its a door ding but it seems deeper than that. But I don’t know what else it would and I would like to have my facts straight before I start accusing people willy nilly. Also what’s the probability of hail hitting horizontally, since we did have some Wednesday night but I don’t think its that since I looked over the car Thursday morning

That’s not hail.

Smacked the door up into something sharp edges, a post or something similar once.

I’ve had dings like that, specifically when I parked next to a white chevy 2500 on a windy day. I came out and found a white ding just like that, right about the correct height for the bottom corner of their door, so no doubt when they opened it the wind took it and BAM tattooed my car. So, door ding.

If it’s some mid-80s GM 2 door, you’re damn right it’s a door ding.

Classic door ding. Even has what looks like some white paint transfer.
My truck is a similar shade of green and it has a series of ding along the side that correspond to the seat where my son sits in my wife’s white Explorer.

I figured that, mainly because no other car in the yard has hail damage

Yup. The first ding in my Miata was my son coming out of the Kia. Looks just like that.
